Your Dependents
Dependent payments apply at 30%+ only. Set your exact situation for an accurate monthly compensation figure.

At 10% and 20%, dependents do not increase compensation per VA regulations.

How VA Math Works

The VA uses the whole-person formula from 38 CFR § 4.25 — not simple addition. Each condition is applied to your remaining able-bodied percentage.

50% + 30% =Not 80% — see below
Start100% whole person
Apply 50%50 disabled → 50% remaining
Apply 30%30% of 50 = 15 → 35% remaining
Combined65% → rounds to 70%, not 80%

The bilateral factor (38 CFR § 4.26) combines bilateral conditions first, adds 10% of that subtotal as straight addition, then combines the result with your remaining conditions.

This is an estimate. Uses 38 CFR § 4.25/4.26 and exact 2026 VA rates from va.gov. Does not account for effective dates, TDIU pay rates, or SMC add-ons. Verify with a VA-accredited representative — find one here.
